Cancún, Quintana Roo a 26 de mayo de 2020.- Mario Machuca, dirigente de la CROC en Quintana Roo, ex diputado y candidato a la presidencia municipal de Benito Juárez, renunció al Partido Revolucionario Instituconal (PRI), luego de 37 años de militancia.
El líder obrero formalizó su renuncia mediante una carta con fecha 22 de mayo, dirigida a Elda Candelaria Ayuso Achach, actual presidente del Comité Ejecutivo Estatal del PRI.
La renuncia de Mario Machuca es un fuerte golpe al PRI, partido desfigurado desde la elección del 2016 en Quintana Roo, pero prácticamente muerto desde que perdió la presidencia en 2018.
Cabe destacar que desde la pérdida de la elección presidencial, al menos en el caso de Quintana Roo, el más fuerte apoyo provenía precisamente de centrales obreras como la CROC ante el desfonde financiero del partido y la fuga de militantes hacia partidos como Morena.
