Realiza PROFEPA peritaje de 971 huevos de Tortuga Marina asegurados por la PF en Chiapas

Constata esta Procuraduría que se trata de huevos de tortuga golfina (Lepidochelys olivacea), especie listada en la NOM-059-SEMARNAT-2010 en categoría de Peligro de extinción (P)

Se recomendó la destrucción de las piezas, toda vez que ya no son viables para su incubación

Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas.- La Procuraduría Federal de Protección al Ambiente (PROFEPA) realizó el peritaje de 971 huevos de tortuga marina de la especie golfina (Lepidochelys olivacea), mismos que fueron asegurados por elementos de la Policía Federal (PF), en el estado de Chiapas.

Personal de la PROFEPA en la entidad realizó la identificación de las piezas, en cumplimiento al convenio de colaboración celebrado con la Procuraduría General de la Republica (PGR).

Constató que se trata de huevos de quelonio marino de la especie golfina, la cual se encuentra enlistada en la Norma Oficial Mexicana NOM-059-SEMARNAT-2010, en la categoría de Peligro de extinción (P).

Asimismo, tras valorar las características morfológicas de los huevos (esféricos, de color blanco, con cascaron suave) se detectó que presentaron una escasa descalcificación por lo que se recomendó su destrucción toda vez que, debido al tiempo que llevaban fuera de su medio natural y al traslado de los mismos ya no son viables para su incubación.

Cabe señalar que el valor comercial del producto asciende a la cantidad de $12,946.00 (Doce mil novecientos cuarenta y seis pesos 00/100 M/N).

Los 971 huevos de tortuga golfina quedaron bajo resguardo en la Delegación de la Procuraduría General de la República, con sede en la ciudad de Tapachula, Chiapas, en donde a petición del Ministerio Público, personal de esta Delegación llevó acabo la destrucción del total de las piezas.
